DIDIT is five this month! We may still be small, but we're growing every day — faster than your Christmas to-do list (wink wink). To celebrate and cheer to even bigger dreams, we're sharing five milestones and lessons that show just how far we've come.
Milestone 1: The First Customer
DIDIT is, quite literally, a COVID baby. When the world pressed pause — and so did Marcela's, our CEO, career — she asked herself: What now? How can I help people in a way that actually matters? Then came that phone call. The one that changes your life if you're paying attention. Marcela listened — and created DIDIT.
A few days later, when she stepped outside her house in Prague, she met a new neighbor struggling with… something. "Do you need help?" Marcela asked. She did. She needed a parking permit and had no idea where to start. And so, DIDIT had its first real client — before the website existed and before the brand even had a logo. When they say that big things start with tiny moments, in DIDIT's case, it's absolutely true.
Milestone 2: The Big Challenge
At first, DIDIT mainly helped expats survive Czech bureaucracy. But soon, with the website up and word-of-mouth becoming our best marketing tool, the questions started to get… yep, increasingly random and challenging: "Can you fix my 1950s retro lock?" Or: "Can you watch my spoiled gecko while I'm on a business trip?"
Well, as Pippi Longstocking says: "I've never done it before, so I think I can do it!" We firmly believe that every problem has a solution. With that in mind, we found an amazing retired repairman for the lock. And with Linda, the gecko, we didn't just admire her — we even learned how to use tweezers to feed crickets into her mouth. What a lesson! And just like that, thanks to our clients, we discovered that we're capable of far more than scheduling doctor appointments or coordinating handyman visits. That's why we say: if it's on your to-do list, it can be on ours. Truly. We've proven it.
Milestone 3: The First Team
Marcela spent most of her formative years in New York — which means she moves fast. To be more precise: New York fast. But even NY speed can't turn one person into five. Building a company with zero investors (and yes, it really IS as hard as they say to get them when you're a service start-up and not a crew of IT geeks building the next big app, and it really hurts to try) means starting much smaller than your "in three years we'll serve all of Europe" dreams.
So at one point, Marcela was: a full-time sales director at a cosmetic company, a start-up founder and CEO, and a bestie who was supposed to pack 200 merchandise boxes. Even for someone as efficient as she is, this could never be a one-woman show — and she knew it from day one. So she did what smart people do when their to-do list becomes physically impossible: she called her besties. And out of her friends, a tiny but mighty first team of contractors was born. Martin and Marta handled the Prague to-dos (with Martin also taking care of the website), and Saša supported clients in Ostrava.
Milestone 4: The Leap
In 2025, Marcela turned 50. And even though there's never really enough money to feed a start-up, something else grew stronger than caution — the realization that time is precious. So she made the big decision: quit the glossy-title, regular-paycheck job, and pour all her energy, hours, effort, part of her savings and all of her heart into DIDIT. Because if not now… when? At fifty, as she says, not trying would hurt far more than trying and failing.
Milestone 5: The Numbers
Until September this year, we really were a start-up toddler. Now? We're more like a confident schooler sprinting into the world, backpack bouncing, smiling — most of the time, to be fair. So far, we've completed 526 tasks and saved our clients 1,362 hours — and that's just the starting point. Over the last couple of weeks, we've grown our team consisting of a strategic advisor, new talent in marketing and social media and a content creator for all things text.
With all the lessons learned — yes, sometimes the hard way — and a growing team at our side, we're heading straight toward Marcela's big dream. But here's the truth: we can only get there with you.
Happy 5th Birthday, DIDIT!
You've shaped not only who we are today, but who we're becoming.
Send us your messages, your requests, your last-minute panics, your "this should have been done 24 hours ago uaaaaa" tasks, or anything you simply don't want to deal with.
We've got you.
And you've got us.
Here's to the next big milestone(s).
